The Detroit Bureau Automotive Project "The Detroit Automotive Project uses research, education, and negotiation to persuade companies to close the multi-billion dollar trade deficit between corporations and minority consumers by hiring and promoting more minorities to corporate boards and awarding more contracts to minority businesses. Among the 486 directors of the forty-five companies in which we own stock, there are just 23 African Americans, 4 Latinos, 84 Asians, and 45 women".
The data above represents the 2001 ending fiscal year
(Based on our research DaimlerChrysler, Nissan, America Honda and Toyota boards include foreign nationals.)
*The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Supervisory Board approves major company decisions, as well as selecting and monitoring management boards.
**In 2001 Toyota created a multicultural North America Diversity Advisory Board composed of prominent North Americans.
Inclusion of people of color and women in management, employment, professional services, procurement opportunities and corporate board representation is our standard of a good corporate trading partner.
Equal opportunity and equal access for people of color and women on all levels will make America greater. We did not know how good baseball could be until everyone could play. America cannot achieve true greatness until it provides a level playing field for everyone.
