Chicago (CBS) — Reverend Jesse Jackson, Senior and Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy took part in a spirited debate over gun violence this morning on the city’s South Side.
With a table of assault rifles as examples nearby, Chicago’s Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy laid out how he thinks gun violence can be reduced.
“We could start by banning assault weapons and expanded magazines,” said McCarthy.
The round table discussion at the Rainbow Push Coalition Headquarters led by Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. included McCarthy, gun control advocates and religious leaders.
