Press Availability for Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., Day Two of 46th Annual PUSH Convention



CHICAGO – After an action packed opening session Wednesday, the second day of the 46th annual Rainbow PUSH Coalition international convention is under way at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave. with an address Thursday morning to the Labor Breakfast by Tom Perez.



At 11:30 A.MThursday, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, will be available to meet with the media to discuss the plight of temporary workers and the vicious assault on affordable of health care, which could put tens of thousands of jobs at risk.


Rev. Jackson will also urge Gov. Bruce Rauner to immediately sign the bipartisan Automatic Voter Registration bill.


The press avail will be on the second floor of the Hilton in the Normandie Lounge, just outside the Grand Ballroom.


Thursday Convention Highlights include:


12:30 – 2:30 PM: Minister’s Luncheon, Rev. Al Sharpton keynote speaker.


2 -4 PM: From SNCC to Black Lives Matters, a discussion on how today’s activists can build on the past, moderated by Dr. Julianne Malveaux, author, educator and president of PUSH Excel Board of Directors.


6 - 9 P.M; Sports Banquet Roundtable, featuring NBA Hall of FamerBernard King, legendary sports agent, Leigh Steinberg and Adrienne Lawrence, ESPN anchor and legal analyst.
