Please see below a statement from Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, regarding the Federal Communications Commission’s Public Notice to Extend the Open Internet Proceeding
“The Rainbow PUSH Coalition is in support of the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to extend the Open Internet Proceeding. The organization remains committed to policies that seek to close the current digital divide in America and promote affordable access and adoption for all.
We continue to call on the Commission to conduct a facts-driven analysis of the possible impact that its planned regulations may have on deployment and adoption rates. The path outlined by the FCC is one that moves in the right direction. It is our hope that a consensus can be reached on this issue that safeguards the interests of underserved communities and seeks to bring our country closer to universal broadband adoption.”
