Discrimination
Hello I am a black female Police Officer at Kankakee City Police Department. I am 42 years old with 6 children married with two grandchildren. I’ve been an officer for 16 years but only 3 years at Kankakee. I recently been off work due to medical conditions and during so a court case was scheduled that I could not make it to due to illness. My department already knew of this. Now I’ve been told I have a warrant no bond arrest for not showing to court. Not to mention they arrest a black female witness in March who was scared to testify and gave her warrant, locked her up for 7 days. The states attorney was made aware that I was at home sick and off. There are several officers on sick leave (White males) who clearly isn’t attending court!! But this black Woman who has been picked with since I started in July of 2018. I am asking for help!! 708.625.7128
So much racist things are happening and it needs to come to a head! I have so many doctors appointments to attend and had attended. I have been off since July 2. My department is aware I’m sick at home.
