Career Scholarship
CVS Health is proud to dedicate the Social Justice and Equity Career Scholarship Program in honor of the Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson Sr., an American activist, Baptist Minister, and politician. This career scholarship will be offered to eligible HBCU / PBI students as a reminder of his legacy, fruitful service and commitment to social justice and equity for all. In recognition of his inspired leadership, each year CVS Health will award the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Career Scholarship to help disadvantaged students gain access to a quality education, pursue their field of interest, and complete their educational and career goals. The Rev. Jesse Jackson Career Scholarship Program will be a grassroots effort designed to help address student achievement gaps by breaking the cycle of poverty through education, achievement, and pursuit of full potential. The five-year educational investment will yield professionals in the Healthcare & Business industry. The Career Scholarship Program will be a partnership between the student, community, school, business, and families. CVS Health and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition will work together with these stakeholders to ensure participants of the scholarship program are positioned for success to pursue a vocational certificate, two-year or a four-year degree from an accredited educational institution. CVS Health’s commitment in support of the Career Scholarship Program will begin with introducing each student to careers in the Healthcare & Business industry. All recipients of the award will be officially recognized at the Rev. Jesse Jackson annual event each year. All monetary awards will be designated directly to partnering academic institutions for the students. Rev. Jesse Jackson’s contributions toward equality in education and academic achievement are significant. The Career Scholarship Program will serve as a shining light for disadvantaged students to reach their full potential on their path to success.
