Equal access to education, voter registration, jobs

 Rev. Jackson, Rep. Pierre and Senator Fields to hold press conference calling for equal access to education, voter registration, jobs and resources to stem the violence.

Chicago, IL – Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., State Rep. Vincent J. Pierre (D-LA), , chairman of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, and Senator Cleo Fields (D-Louisiana) are holding an 11:30 a.m. press conference Thursday, May 19th, at the Louisiana State Capitol Building, 900 North 3rd Street, Baton Rouge, LA, Legislative Black Caucus Room B-172, to discuss voter registration, education, violence in the community and jobs.

“We stand together to fight for equal resources especially since despite spending the most per student, Louisiana consistently ranks at the bottom of the country in educating our children. We stand together to fight for equal access to the ballot box, to jobs and to equal education. We also stand united in fighting for the resources we need to stem the violence in our urban cities,” said Rev. Jackson.
