Rev. Jackson to receive the Crans Montana Forum highest award in Geneva, Switzerland
It is highest of Forum’s honor
Chicago, IL – Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. will be presented the “Prix de la Foundation 2022” award Friday, November 18, 2022, in Geneva, Switzerland for his civil and human rights work across the globe including human rights and promoting peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Accepting the award for Rev. Jackson will be James Gomez, director for International Affairs for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.
The “Prix de la Foundation 2022” award is the Forums highest honor. Other previous recipients include heads of government, corporate leaders, activists, UN Secretary Generals, and others.
Rev. Jackson is being honored for his civil and Human rights work across the globe including human rights, promoting. Peaceful resolution of conflicts and other humanitarian achievements. Rev. Jackson is a friend of Crans Montana Forum (CMF) and has been a regular participant.
Praising the CMF, Bishop Tavis Grant, acting national executive director for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, said, “The award is an incredible accomplishment on Rev. Jackson’s part in terms of his humanitarian efforts, his foreign policy positions and the doctrine that he has created that is being accepted by many countries around the globe.
“Rev. Jackson has taken civil rights into places and spaces that one would not have thought the work of Dr. King could reach,” Bishop Grant said. “The whole idea of the King doctrine and how Rev. Jackson has expounded upon it is what this award is all about.
“The globalization of peace and humanitarian efforts along with dealing with issues of poverty and diplomacy has been a hallmark of Rev. Jackson’s career,” Bishop Grant stated. “This is just one more way of establishing his global presence and value to the world at large.”
The Crans Montana Forum is being held from November 16-19th with a special program devoted to Globalization, the end of an era. This year’s theme is, “Reinventing our world’s Social, Economic, and Security Balance—Our world’s unexpected challenges—Pandemic, Wars, Finance, and Food Crisis.”
